The Kinnear Centre for Creativity and Innovation
In the spring of 2006 The Banff Center began phase one of an extensive revitalization project. This multi million- dollar facility will include the Kinnear Centre, which was completed in summer 2010. This building will feature state of the art audiovisual equipment, innovative rehearsal and performance spaces and informal gallery areas to showcase the results of the Centre's creative programs. The Kinnear Centre is a LEED 'silver' designated building.
Banff Recreation Center
The Town of Banff recently began a renovation and expansion on its recreation facility. This project began with deconstruction of the existing building and a major reconstruction including a new four sheet curling rink and curling lounge area, lobby and concession, replacement of the existing arena slab and board system and construction of a second NHL sized ice arena. Work began in May 2009 and when complete this facility will have a LEED silver designation.
